Ingredients
For the Tofu:
1 block (14 oz) firm or extra-firm tofu
2 tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons neutral oil (like avocado or canola)
Hot Honey BBQ Sauce:
½ cup Double Barrel BBQ Hot Honey BBQ Sauce
For the Brussels Sprouts:
1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons balsamic glaze (optional for serving)
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Tofu
Drain and press the tofu for 10-15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes or slices, depending on your preference.
In a bowl, mix the cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt.
Toss the tofu in the mixture until evenly coated.
Step 2: Pan-Fry the Tofu
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the tofu in a single layer (you may need to cook in batches).
Pan-fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy and golden brown.
Transfer the tofu to a paper towel-lined plate.
Step 3: Coat the Tofu
Pour the hot honey BBQ sauce over the crispy tofu just before serving.
Step 4: Air-Fry the Brussels Sprouts
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Toss the halved Brussels sprouts in olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Spread them evenly in the air fryer basket.
Air-fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through until they are crispy and browned.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze if using.
Serve:
Plate the hot honey BBQ tofu and crispy Brussels sprouts together.
Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions for a pop of color, if desired.
