Smoked Salmon with charred Pineapple Habanero BBQ Sauce

This recipe pairs rich, smoky salmon with a sweet and spicy pineapple habanero BBQ sauce that packs a flavorful punch!


Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 1-2 lbs salmon fillet (skin-on)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions



Step 1: Prepare the Salmon

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

  2. Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels and rub with olive oil.

  3. Mix salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder, then sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the salmon.

Step 2: Smoke the Salmon

  1. Place the salmon on the smoker skin-side down.

  2. Close the lid and smoke for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature of the salmon reaches 145°F (63°C).

  3. Brush a generous amount of Pineapple Habanero BBQ Sauce over the salmon during the last 20 minutes of smoking.

Step 3: Serve

  1. Carefully remove the salmon from the smoker and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  2. Slice into portions and drizzle with additional sauce.

  3. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with grilled vegetables, rice, or a side salad.
