  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon cumin

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Hot Honey BBQ Sauce:

Taco Assembly:

  • 4-6 soft flour or corn tortillas

  • 2 ripe pears (thinly sliced)

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce (romaine or butter lettuce work well)

  • ⅓ cup roasted peanuts (lightly crushed for texture)

  • Optional toppings: sliced avocado, pickled onions, fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu:

    • Cut the tofu into small cubes or strips.

    • In a bowl, toss the tofu with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

    • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and sauté the tofu for 6-8 minutes until golden and crispy on the outside. Set aside.

  2. Toast the Peanuts (Optional):

    1. If desired, toast the peanuts in a dry pan over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Assemble the Tacos:

    1. Warm the tortillas in a dry pan or microwave.

    2. Add a layer of shredded lettuce to each tortilla.

    3. Top with BBQ tofu, a few pear slices, and a handful of crushed peanuts.

    4. Drizzle extra Hot Honey BBQ Sauce over the top for extra flavor.

  4. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Garnish with optional toppings like avocado, pickled onions, or cilantro for added freshness.

The roasted peanuts add a perfect crunch and nutty flavor, complementing the sweet pear and smoky tofu. Enjoy your flavorful, texture-rich tacos!
